Ultra Light 35QD Stryker Cat
Ultra light (Single Throw) prototype QuickDraw (A6p 35.6cc), produces up to 7.5HP
at only 4.36lbs. Photo shows the hand made billet rear pull start, that uses the Aeromarine
Collet to attach the flex shaft. Note: the excess space between the collet and the stuffing tube,
was a result of moving the engine forward without glassing-in a new tube, this caused the shaft to brake.
I had to move the engine forward a 3rd time to over 15", with a new stuffing tube. This ultra light 35
QD / Stryker Cat, is setup more like a Hydro then a Cat. It failed to reach the full potential
because it was setup in a cat. Because of it's very high power to weight ratio, it would
blow-off at speeds near 75mph. This engine is best suited in a rigger with a lifting prop,
that would allow it to fly at speeds of (90mph + or -) without blow off.
