Transom of 260Zen powered Stryker Cat. Cut Speedmaster rudder with Ballantine
strut with Skeg reduced to 1/2"and angle sharpened on right side. This greatly helps
track the cat straight, with zero rudder correction, allowing faster speed and turning.
If the strut is set to high, this will cause excessive slippage. Reducing slip by lowering the
prop is the easiest way to gain speed with surface drive setups. Also the blunt front of the
strut, where the nose cone connects, should be filed down to the size of the round nose piece.
This will reduce drag. Note: I prefer a collet drive setup
that requires a 3/16th > 1/4" space between the drive dog & strut, to allow for flex shaft shrinkage.
