strut with Skeg reduced to 1/2"and angle sharpened on right side. This greatly helps

  track the cat straight, with zero rudder correction, allowing faster speed and turning.

If the strut is set to high, this will cause excessive slippage. Reducing slip by lowering the

 prop is the easiest way to gain speed with surface drive setups. Also the blunt front of the

strut, where the nose cone connects, should be filed down to the size of the round nose piece.

This will reduce drag. Note: I prefer a collet drive setup

that requires a  3/16th > 1/4" space between the drive dog & strut, to allow for flex shaft shrinkage.
