This impeccably made Hoover Hydro was built by Glen Mcconnell a master boat builder from Idaho, who I bought two hydros from. He bought this already beautifully painted hull from Dennis Hoover, at an RC Boat show around 1996. He built it as a scale, very realistic unlimited hydro, with hand made stanchions, turbine, turn fin, etc. He reinforced the entire hull for the 35QuickDraw A4, with a 1/4" plywood template, laid-up inside the hull against the bottom. It really was a labor of love, as he spent all winter building these two Hydros. One year later during 1997, I finally ran it; after doing engine, pipe, and prop mods. It ran extremely  fast & handled great. Best bounce on radar was 69mph with my mod 7020/3 prop. I also bought a 2nd beautiful 35QD Hoover from  Glen. He painted it with "Smokin Joe" colors, done-up as a QuickDraw theme boat. I made a big mistake and gave that hydro away as a gift.
